Hello, my line is HICKS, from MD, VA, Greene Co, TN and Downing, Schuyler Co, MO. Looking for ****Isaac HICKS, b. 1729-- Stephen HICKS, b.1760-- Stephen I. HICKS, b. 1795 and my great-great grandmother-- Hannah HICKS, b.1831****. My great grandmother is Celesta Pearl Bruner, married Henry Cleveland Lasley. I believe the Cherokee comes from the Hicks line, as all the women have the prominent features and jet black hair. Hopefully someone can "relate" to this family.

Looking for a link to the Canady or Vinson's. Grandmother and my parents told me of my NA heritage but I did not ask the right questions while anyone was alive!!
Looking for possible connect to John Dotson listed on Dawes Rolls. GGM was Eliza Ann Dotson, whose father's name was John Dotson. She was the second wife of James H.R. Spilman of Wapello Co. Iowa and may have had a brother also named John.
Jeannie Rathbone, do you have names for your Martins? I have Martins in my tree....some of my Martins changed their names to Morton (mother's maiden name) and then somehow became Motons....
Looking for any information on Dave Ridge, he was the incoming sheriff and murdered on 27 Sep 1897 at the Saline County Courthouse. His daughter, Nan Ridge Howard was my Mam maw and a wonderful lady.
Her mother was Caroline Parris Ridge, aka Callie Ridge.
My Cherokee lines come from two sides of my mother's line. Rosanna Ward married Daniel Marion Tittle and their son James Marion Tittle married Annie Henrietta Prather whose mother was Cherokee. Her name was Edith Caroline Rogers. She was the granddaughter of Charles Rogers who married Nannie Downing and Charles father was Capt. John "Hell Fire Jack" Rogers who married Elizabeth Emory. Rosanna Ward was the daughter of James Ward Sr. whose father was John Ward who married Catherine "Katy" McDaniel who was the granddaughter of Chief Old Hop
My Ward-Tittle line settle in Vinita Oklahoma and so did my Prather-Rogers line although Edith Caroline is buried in Welch with her husband Robert Allen Prather. This is still in Craig County Oklahoma
For those of you who want more info about the Tribes' make up; i.e. physical appearance, laws, customs, rituals, etc. , google and read the first chapter - Changing Cherokee Ways 1690-1790 , on the google books link. From the book Cherokee Renascence in the New Republic. Scroll up to the index link to check for ancestors.
I'm searching for my Tittle-Buffington family. I have a lot of information on the Buffington side, but am at a brick wall with William R. Tittle. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Posting a long shot here - looking for descendants of a ROWE family who were located in the Creek Nation in Alabama in the early 1800's. This area became Talladega County. Three sons of this family ended up in Texas by 1855 - William P. born 1816; Abram C. born 1817; and Solomon J. born 1818. We don't know the father's name, but using an educated guess, we believe he was a John ROWE. No clue at all as to the mother's name.
This family changed the spelling from ROWE to ROE once they arrived in TX. If even a tiny bit of this sounds familiar, sure would like to hear!
