Among my husband Lionel DeRagon's files on the children of Francois and Marie Guillemet I found copies of the baptisms of all THIRTEEN children. Your list of children above is missing one child:

JOSEPH DARAGON-dit-LAFRANCE, born 8 June 1709, baptised 9 June 1709. He went "ouest" on an engagement 29 June 1728. No further records have been found regarding Joseph.

Question from Michelle: I have been trying to find the death record of the first daughter Marie-Marthe Daragon-Lafrance. She was born 15 Dec 1698 in St-Jean, Île-d'Orléans, New France. She married Julien Bonvouloir-dit-Deslières in Montreal on 23 Nov 1717. Can anyone tell me where/when she died?

From Denins: Michelle: My records show Marie- Marthe died Jan 14, 1777. In Windsor Assumption. I also have her second husband as Jean Baptiste Goyau Lagarde married September 02, 1740. I do not know where this information came from. I have never confirmed this information, but it is a starting point for you.

From Michelle: Hi Denis - When I first started to work on the family genealogy over 5 years ago, I never kept track of my sources either. I never realized at the time, the importance of doing that. Now, with my subscription to Ancestry, I have been going back and citing all of my sources. I had some contradicting information about a few of the daughters of the first François & Marie i.e. - it seems that they were all married to *Jean-Baptiste Gouyau-dit-Lagarde*!

I have Marie-Hélène as being married to Jean-Baptiste Gouyau-dit-Lagarde and that Marie-Hélène died on 01 Jan 1777, close to the date that you have Marie-Marthe as having died. I do not have a second husband for Marie-Marthe but I do have her first husband as having died on 31 Mar 1737 in Montreal. I have combed the records on Ancestry but can't seem to find a burial record for Marie-Marthe. It's like she disappeared!

From the records at Windsor, things get complicated when the marriage record contains only the first name "Marie" - I have attached the record here...1740 - Marie Daragon & Jean-Baptiste Goyau marriage.jpg
