My first Sheppard ancestor, Maria C. Sheppard, was born March 3rd 1791 in London, England. She married Benjamin Briscoe on November 22nd 1815 in London. They had four known children, Charles Benjamin Briscoe born April 3rd 1818 in Cripplegate, Middlesex, England, Isabella born May 1st 1822 in London, Martha born December 16th 1825 in Hackney, Middlesex, and Joseph Henry Briscoe, born October 5th 1829 in Middlesex, who was a direct paternal ancestor of my grandmother.
Maria was the daughter of Charles Sheppard Sr. and his wife, Ann. Charles Sheppard Sr. was born 1758 in London, and Ann was born 1760 in London. They had six known children, Jane Sheppard born April 16th 1783 in London, Charles Sheppard Jr. born October 4th 1784 in London, William Sheppard born August 21st 1786 in London, Elizabeth Sheppard born January 6th 1788 in London, Sarah Bardwell Sheppard born August 18th 1789 in London, and Maria.
And that's my lineage, I'll also add that I believe Charles Sheppard had a brother named William Sheppard who married a woman named Constance. They had three known children, George Augustus Sheppard born 1784 in London and died 1819 in Christ Church, Southwark, England, William Phipps Sheppard born 1787 in Westminster, London, and Charles Sheppard born April 1st 1791 in London.
My Sheppard family line begins in Ireland with a John Sheppard, an Irish Quaker living from about 1662 to late 1600's. His son, William Sheppard, born in 1682 in Ireland and immigrated to East Nottingham, Chester County, Pennsylvania in 1739. The family lived in Chester County for at least another 100 years. My line, John Sheppard and wife Catherine Taylor(?) moved into the city of Chester, Pennsylvania around 1860-70. Anyone else ever hear of this Sheppard group?

David Sheppard(1624) and Rachel Wausborough (b1625) had John Sheppard in 1655 at Cleagh Keating, Tipperary, Ireland. (+ Giles, Jonathan, David, Thomas, Jonadab, and James. John Sheppard (1655) and Margritt (1659) had Job Sheppard before 1680 in Cleagh Keating, Tipperary, Ireland. (+ Hannah, Enoch, Dickinson, Margaret, David, and John) Keziah Sheppard was born about 1701 in New Jersey, USA from Job Sheppard (1680). (no spouse known - other children were Joseph, Robert, Job, Mary, and Kerrenhappuch) Keziah (1701) married Captain Benoni Dare (1694) in 1745 in Cumberland County, NJ. I am descended from both of their children, James Ayres Dare and Rachel Dare.
