Hello everybody. New here. I've done a lot of research on ancestors in the Minisink Valley (Sussex) in the18th and early 19th centuries, and I've got a pretty stubborn brick wall in the person of my x4 great grandmother Eleanor Decker (born 1756 - died 16 Mar 1791 in Walpack, Sussex, New Jersey. She married Cornelius Ennis 22 Sep 1781 and had three children. I haven't been able to find any trace of her life before her marriage and nothing about her parents or family. If any one has suggestions on where I might look, I'd be thankful. And thrilled. I have a lot of info about the Ennis, Decker and Westfall lines in northern New Jersey and southern New York -- right back to New Amsterdam -- if anybody is interested, please yell.
Hi, Rosina, I don't know if you have this information already, but Sussex County was created from Morris County in 1753, and Morris and Sussex had originally all been part of Hunterdon County. Hunterdon had split from Burlington in 1714. So perhaps some of these counties might have information on your ancestors.
Does anyone know any information on Aaron Meeker from Sussex County. He was born in 1810 and married to Hannah Maseker in 1842. I am trying to find who his father was.
Some information I have found claims his father to be Joseph Meeker born in 1777. Just trying to find some confirmation. Thanks for any help!
