The Hacketts are my adoptive family, though I have done some work on tracing them for my relatives who are Hacketts by blood.
The farthest back I can go with that is to William Hackett Birth abt 1821inRutlandshire County, England Death August 9, 1900inLinwood, Ontario, Canada who was married to "Sara" Clarissa Astrope.
I am a Hackett from County Clare Ireland. my grandfather was Michael ( Mop ) Hackett born in Clonlara County Clare Ireland in 1884. His father was James born ab 1843 and his mother was Catherine Torpey born 1843. They were Lock keepers at Newtown Clonlara on the Grand Canal. The lock house and the lock still exist today and hackett's still live there
We have a Hackett Family Bible from 1828. It has a family tree, more or less, in it--no years, just month/day and name of person born, and possibly one death as it doesn't say, "born" with that name. Interested in learning more? If I recall, "William" was the first mentioned in it.
