    Same thing here, Michelle.....
I suspect this as great great grandfather Luke W Conerly said so in his book. However, the Brits would like to downplay any potential affair or unauthorized marriage by a young "soon to be king". Or, was he already ascended to the throne by then? I can't recall. Someone told me several years ago that the sealed records of the investigation from over 100 years ago were supposed to have been re-opened sometime in the last 20-30 years and have not been touched. Perhaps that's just a bit of lore. It still makes for an interesting story, and the possibility of being related to King George III. BTW, this is the first time I've seen a portrait of Hannah.

    Michelle & Robert:

If you have any ancestors by the last name "Mackelcan" I may be able to assist with your search.

I just found your page today and am fascinated with the story of Hannah and King George, a story my father's family deems as fact and a story I've been told by his family for as long as I can remember.  I am a direct descendant of their son, Buxton Lawn, whose daughter married William B. Ligon.  If you or anyone out there has any more information about what happened to Hannah and her daughter (she reportedly had three children by George - Buxton and George Rex who was sent to Africa), I would greatly appreciate hearing it.  Thanks so much for your efforts!
