Kentucky Wrights - Jacob Wright m Waters, Jacob Wright m Miriam Helm, Uberto Wright m Susannah Jane Smith, Narcissa Frances Wright m John B. McConnell. The McConnells were my great-grandparents. Families from Barren & Warren Counties, KY.
My brickwall is Elizabeth WRIGHT (1772-1843) in Philadelphia area. She married 1st William ASHTON; 2nd Jonathan WHITE. But she came from "nowhere"; no families fit. Or I should say she "fits" one family nicely, but it's well-documented and she's not a part of it. Another Elizabeth from NJ is born 4 days before my Elizabeth, but "someone" said she died ca 1796; no documentation that I can find.

Monday Madness was rather quiet. I had no luck looking for Shirley's William Wright in NY. Nor any luck looking for her Dexter Wright. It has been quietly driving us mad.
Dexter is the son of Henry and Phebe Wright whom is the son of William Wright and Orilla Wilson Wright.
1880 census has Dexter Wright in Bainbridge Chenango NY age 14 born about 1866
Father Henry born NY mother Phebe born NY
single white male living at home with parents and siblings.
William age 18
Charles 16
Dexter 14
Frank 10.
Two boys daughtered out we are looking for descendants of Dexter if there were any and William.
Hi group, I have traced my mother Edna Wright's family from Ontario where I live to Weston Wright of Carver, Plymouth Mass and his parents Moses Wright and Mary Weston back to Richard Wright 1608- 1691 Plymouth, Plymouth Mass. And Have contact with family from Conetticute and Michigan.Giveing us lines to Francis Cooke, Richard Warren and George Soule of the Mayflower. I have DNA posted.
Hello. I don't know where to begin on these lines because I have multiple lines, but one set are pretty married in. The married in bunch are also tied in with Wood, Hylton (in OR, but also VA/WV) and Ownbey's. Some with Rees(e) which were in VA, OH and IN. And then Haworth, Dillon and some others. Another branch goes back from Olive Orinda Wright m. to John Carlie Hosier. Her parents were Benjamin Wright and Phe(o)be Hayes and this family seems to be from VT. I have a few more, but these are the main ones.
If I am not mistaken the Wrights of Vermont came originally from Massachusettes and are the descendants of Deacon Samuel Wright. One descendent Ebenezer and his two sons refused to sign the Decloration of Independence and the result was that Vermont remained a soveriegn nations for seven years after the Revolutionary War. He and his family had to flee to Cornwall Ontario as United Empire Loyalists.
Hello Gerald. I see that your surname is Hayes. As you might note, my Wright ancestor from VT was married to a Hayes. Do you recognize this line at all? The information I have on Benjamin Wright is he was b. 26 Oct 1779 in Chelsea, Orange, VT, m. Phe(o)be Hayes (b. about 1791 in Orange, NY). I have this couple and probably their youngest son, Lyman, in the 1850 census in Chautauqua, NY. I also seem to have them there in the 1840 census along with a Landers Wright who seems a generation younger.
How are you. I'm afraid that we are not likely related. None of my family to the best of my knowledge ever lived in Vermont. As for my last name my great great great grandfather John Hayes emigrated to Ontario from Cork Ireland in 1839 to be joined later by his sister Ellen. He was born in 1823 and his father was Dennis. They were master shoemakers of the city of Cork and John was only 16 when he came. It is said of him that he was well educated as he could read and write in both Gaelic and English. He operated a successfull hotel in the city of Bellville, Ontario puchased land and continued to make shoes. In 1852 he married Anistasia Hariggan of Limerick who emigrated like so many others from the Potatoe Famine. If Phoebe's Family was Southern Irish at one time all our names were O'Hea or O' Houada. If this is true for her then thier would be a relationship.
Hi Gerald,
Well, that seem rather remote. I only tentatively have Phoebe's parents as Benjamin and just A Hayes both from NY in the 1760's. Benjamin Wright was the one from VT. I haven't connected him up with any other Wright's yet, but I know there a lot of them out there.
