My gggrandfather was John Quincy Adams Reece b 19 June 1845 in Windsor, IN, m. Mary Ellen Clevenger. I believe his father was Thomas Reece though I haven't started researching this line. I have pictures I can share if anyone connects with this line.
Oh, wow!! I've never met anyone from this side of my family before so this is really exciting! Nellie Bird--one of the twins--was my ggrandmother. Why don't you email me directly and we can share info. I have quite a few pictures of this family that I would love to send you including one of JQAR in his Civil War uniform and of Uncle Tom and Mary. My address is csims@flash.net.
My husband's line is PA > NC > TN > AL
His father Oliver Elny Reece born Dekalb Co AL married to Amy Lou Darby son of John Finley Reece born Greene Co MO married to Myrta Florence Partridge son of David Crockett Reece born Cherokee Co AL married to Rachael Rebecca Ruddic son of Jesse Andrew Reece born TN married to Ssan Chaney son of David Reece born NC married to Mary Donalson. Hello everyone, My Reece/Reese family lived in Oshawa, Ontario in the 1850's. The patriarch, Lewis Walter Reese (1818-?) and a few of his sons (Lewis Walter and Benjamin Franklin (1858-1921)) were born in Ohio, purportedly Massillon. This is my brick wall though, I can't find them in Ohio. Hope there's a connection!
My Gr. Grandfather was Benjamin Franklin Reese. He was born 20 Jul 1851, Shaler Twp., Allegheny County, :PA; married Sarah Marie Morris, in 1892, in Shaler Twp.; and died 11 Aug. 1896 in Shaler Twp.
Benjamin's Fater was William. He was born 25 May 1821 in Etna, Shaler Twp.; married Sarah Ann Powers; died 26 May 1899.
I don't know if there is a link anywhere but it may be possible.
Hey, are some of yall talking about being descended from Solomon Trusten Reese versus James Reese, Sr.? As in sons of David Reese of Mecklenburg, NC? My 3G grandfather is James M Reese b 1815 TN. A recent DNA test shows we are descended from David Reese the Signer of Mecklenburg, NC. However, we have no idea HOW! David Reese had 6 sons, 3 of which came to Tennessee: James, Charles, & Solomon. Solomon in particular is not well documented and very difficult to find in the records. Anybody know anything about him, his wife Harriet Jack, or their 2 sons & 2 daughters (James Jack, George, Susan & Harriet)? Cathy
HI there, I am related to David Reese of N.C. I am the 4th gr grand son of Elisha Reese of Surry, N.C.; through several family trees and court documents Elisha zReese has always been referred to as a direct descendant of David Reese. But my research thus far is very thin making a solid connection. I have several document stating Elisha and his brother Elijah Reese father was an Abraham Reese of Orange county, NC and that his father was Solomon Reese, but I don't think it was Solomon Trustin Reese, though I could be wrong. I have been told that there are two Abraham Reese's in NC about the same time. Another source states that Abraham's father was Thomas Reese b.1720. If any of you have any comments please feel free to give them.
My grandmother, Selina Mae Reese, d/o Benjamin Franklin Reese, was born in Reeseville, Etna, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. I have been trying to locate Reeseville and nobody has been able to find it on their maps. There is a Reese Street now. This past Sunday we, once again, made a trip to Etna to try locating the old house. While there we took a side street and ended up at the Reeseville Veteran's Monument dedicated to all Reeseville military soldiers throughout our wars. My ancestors listed were George T. Harford and B. Frank Reese.
DL there are sibblings, but I have to make sure I have everything in my program. I am not sure of the names you listed but I will look more closely this evening. It is amazing how many Reese's are out there! I hope my information will help you when I get it all together.
I am looking for any information about the Reese family that lived in gause texas in the late 1880's and the early 1900's. Some of the family members were;
William B Reese and his wife Ann C Reese, they moved to texas
to texas from mississippi and before that they lived around
stoddard missouri where my gggrandfather Jackson Lee Reese was born.
any information or help would be appreciated.

Hi. I am new here and I am interested finding REECE connections. I have very little to go on and have been hitting brick walls for many years. My great grandfather was GEORGE W. REECE, born April 1, 1863 or 1864 in Western NC or even possibly East TN. He died in April 1951 in Morganton, Burke County, NC. He was married to my great-grandmother CELIA CHURCH and they lived in Wilkes County and Ashe County, NC, They are both buried near Lenoir, NC in Collettsville. I have never been able to find George before the 1900 census (In 1900, they live in Jobs Cabin District of Ashe County). I have no siblings or parents for George...hoping to find a breakthrough. I appreciate any info! Thanks.
I just posted to my page, but am not sure how to let everyone see it, a photo album on the Reeseville, Pennsylvania Veteran's Memorial. Reeseville is in Etna, Shaler Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
Hi everyone! I found this page while researching my Reese family. My great-grandfather was John Earnest Reese, son of Thomas and Jennie Reese, born in 1914. He was adopted by Willie Wellons Ferrell and Alsie Florence Kinton from Mecklenburg, VA. My grandmother has been trying to find her fathers biological family for years now. John received a letter from a man named Charles claiming to be his brother but that letter has long been lost. None of John's adoptive brothers and sisters have any information other than his adoption papers. If anyone has any information, I'd love to make my grandmothers dreams come true. Johns adopted mother, Alsie Kinton had an aunt Mary Ann Kinton that married a B. F. Reese. According to their marriage certificate found on FamilySearch.com, his name was Benjamin F. Reese from Petersburg VA born 1857 and married in Lunenburg to Mary Ann Kinton when he was 46. They had no children but I'm guessing he may have been married previously and had children. Mecklenburg (where John was adopted) is the next county over from Lunenburg. I'm thinking John was really Alsie's cousin's child. I'm hoping that I can find a connection. I'm trying to talk my Grandmother's nephew into doing the DNa test but I don't know how successful that will be. Thank you so much in advance.
I just started looking into my family tree. I was surprised how far back I could get before I hit a wall. It seems my 3G grandfather was Abraham Reece from North Carolina. There seems to be a lot of mystery as to who his parents were and thus that's as far back as I can go. If anyone has any information that would help I'd love to hear it.
Yes, I have the same problem. There are some word of mouth, stories and 1 marriage certificate for Solomon Reece and a book segment, about the marriage of Sarah Boone and Solomon Reece.

I have 2 Reece/Reese women in my tree believed to be sisters who married Lemmons brothers. They were married in 1830's in Rhea County TN.
Amy Reece b1810 married William Lemmons b1798
Sarah Reece b1815 married John Lemmons b1802
I am trying to find out who their parents were and how they might have connected to other TN Reece families.
In the Rhea tax records there are listed the following men:
1825 Roger Reece, Henry Reece
1833 Roger Reece, Jesse Reese, Jesse Reese Jr, William Reese
Does anyone have info about the Reece/Reese family in Rhea county TN??
