My Barnetts were in Scotland then Londonderry, Ire in the 1600s, USA about 1730. They were in PA for a short time, then VA until the Revolutionary War ended, then KY until about 1832 then Illinois.
Some of the the KY family migrated to Indiana, Kansas, Missouri and Texas.
From DNA results I connect with the Barnetts from England who settled in VA, GA and points south.

Allied names are: Long, Kenney, Frame, Hutchin, Gleason, Sweet, Vandevoort, Rapalje and Rix.

Susan, I have Barnetts and Vances in my Dobkins and Gregory lines. Maggie Dobkins married Joseph Barnett in Wayne/Pulaski County, KY. My aunt Mollie Gregory married Hiram Vance in Crawford/Washington County, MO. Both of these lines are also tied back and forth into the Brickey and Compton lines.

Hi Susan, I just conducted a search of members on Rix and your name came up. I see that you are researching Rix. I have started the "Rix family" group on here so you are welcome to join. Then I noticed that you are also researching Sweet. Is there any connection between your Rix and Sweet families? The reason I ask is that I have several Y-DNA matches with Sweet males, so many that the name catches my attention. It may of course be coincidence but it's intriguing. Where did your Rix line come from? Mine are from Norfolk, England. How far back have you got with your Rix? Regards, Trevor Rix

Hi Sue, thanks for your quick response. For now it seems that there is no Rix / Sweet male to male relationship in your records so as I suspected it is a coincidence that I have Sweet DNA matches. Those matches are only on 12 markers so they are not really significant anyway. Thanks for looking :). If you ever get your Rix line to trace back to England, which it probably will, I will try to help you.
