    Hello Bill,

Thanks for adding me as a friend. By the way it was great speaking with you the other day!! I have signed up for Skye since we spoke, and now just have to figure out how to make it work. I don't know anyone on it, yet, but I shall figure it out, eventually.

    Regards,

    -Angela-

    Thanks Bill,

I appreciate the nod. Perhaps our SC roots will meet.

    Peace,

  • Clyde Vanderhorst

Hello Bill, I have ties to Charleston, Berkeley, and Georgetown SC. Are you familiar with the surname Vanderhorst ? I have found some records and information from ancestry.com and other sources.
  • Clyde Vanderhorst

Hello Bill, yes the name Vanderhorst is Dutch. I believe some of my ancestors were enslaved by Vanderhorst slave owners in Charleston. The Vanderhorst slave owners had plantations in Christ Church Parish which is now Mt. Pleasant. They largest plantation was probably on Kiawah Island SC. I have found many of my ancestors in various records. My goal is to find the common link that would connect all Vanderhorst and Vandross with connections to the Sea Islands.

Hello Bill, I would lke to get on the call at 5pm, but unfortunately I will be at work. My work schedule is 2:30pm to 11:00pm Monday - Friday. Maybe I can get on at some other suitable time for all. I am looking forward to it.

    Greetings Bill,
Thanks for the invitation to join the group. Although I'm interested in learning as much as I can, however, am afraid I can't promise anything at the moment since I'm pretty well tied up with my partner's prostate cancer & my 86 yr old Mother's ongoing health problems. Still, please keep me posted?
