Judith, I do think we are probably connected, but I don't know exactly how. I have and Anderson S. Weems who I believe was the brother of my Weems women or cousin; some relative because he lived with Elizabeth Weems at one time. I need to look at some dates and get back with you. But I know Elizabeth and Lucinda were in Jefferson Co. , Ala in the late 20's or early 30's. I'll have to check. Thanks very much for your reply and I'll get back with you. Thanks again.

Hi Judith. I have family ties to the Busby's in Tishamingo County JP Colmen Park area, Tishamingo (Hudson) Busby was my Great-Grandmother. My great-uncle was Julian Busby. I am also related to the Marlars - James/Shannan/Sandy/Donnie.

Wow! It is so interesting hearing about my Grandmother's family. My Uncle Julian lived near JP Coleman Park. If I'm not mistaken, and I'll have to check with my mother, but he sold the land to the state for the access. He married Tenie Rae and I can't remember her maiden name. He lived in Iuka. He passed away in 1997 and is buried in the campground cemtary. GG Tishie and GGpa Joseph had 4 children, two girls and two boys. My Uncle Julian was the oldest and my Grandmother, Ruby Ann Busby Smith was the youngest and just recently passed away, in March. I'm so shocked at the information I'm finding that I'm drawing a blank on many things. Overload I guess. I'll speak with my mother tomorrow. She'll have a lot of information. One thing we always joked about was if my GGrandmother was so old the County was named after her or if she was named after the county. My oldest daughter is named after her, Tishamingo but we shortened it to Tisha. Grandma Ruby met and married Royal Smith in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He was in the Air Force and she was welding ships during WWII. There are so many in my family, Shannan Marlar, Sandy, James, Donnie. I'll really have to talk to my mother. Everyone was aunt and uncle because of southern elder respect that I'm not sure who's a cousin and who's a real uncle. I'll get as much information as I can to help you. Thank you so much!! I always wondered about my mother's family.
