My Wagners are from Hesse Darmstadt, Germany (at least that's where my ggrandfather, Caspar Wagner and ggrandmother, Eliza Ernst are from). I haven't traced my father's line back further as I got a bit caught up in the other side of my family (my grandmother, Flora Turnpaw's line). I think Caspar's father was Andreas Wagner. If this rings a bell with you, let me know. Caspar emigrated in 1867 and immediately went to Albany, NY, with Eliza and her parents and siblings arriving in 1873 and doing the same. Much of my father's family remains in the Albany area.
