    Hope that you had some luck with your research into the family name Devanny. Sorry I have not been able to help you, but like you I cannot get past a brick wall with Irish records. My husband's family Diveney/Diviney I have only been able to trace from his GGGrandfather who appeared on the 1840 English Census, but no further back. Would like to hear from you, Barbara Diveney
