    I'm also researching the John Benedict ancestry, who lived and died in Lincoln, Co, KY.

    I related via his daughter, Hannah BENEDICT Winfrey, b. 1779 in VA d. 1857 in Adair, KY.

    She is in my mtDNA line and we tested at T-1 (known as the Tara line). Her mother is a complete mystery: it is NOT Magdelene Mansfield, widow of William, John's second wife, as most Ancestry dot com accounts list. I'm now exploring the Detrich Benedict connection and Catherine Knepper (Knipper) b. 1758 in Antium, PA, who is listed as married to John Benedick.
