There will be a dinner on Friday night which will be a fun time for the families to get together. Don't forget that Diana Heavener will be meeting all of you at the Court House Friday afternoon to show you the ancient records that are available for research. There will be a lecture on Friday evening from one of our members on his search that led to some surprises. There will be time on Saturday for a tour of local cemeteries. Lectures on topics such as "Why did our ancestors decide to settle here?" Saturday the event is open to the public where people will be demonstrating the techniques our ancestors used in Cape May County in making shingles, carving duck decoys, wool spinning and weaving, etc. If you want to find your ancestors resting places we may be able to help you locate them. Sunday you will be able to take your own walking or driving tour to see some of the oldest houses in the area. Some are ones our ancestors built and lived in in the 1700's. A lot is being planned.for an informative and fun weekend. The dinner on Friday night will be at 6pm and the cost is $20.00. Call the Historical Society to make your reservations. 609-465-3535.
A South Jersey Menu will be served---Half barbecued chicken, corn on the cob,(nothing beats Jersey corn or tomatoes), homemade potato salad, green salad, clams,(fresh from local waters and steamed on site) and homemade desert. The beer and wine will be cash.
