Has anyone used AmericanAncestors.org? I received an email from them this morning with an offer to join for free. The website is part of the New England Historic Genealogical Society. I do not have the time today to look through the databases and set anything up, but was wondering if anyone has experience with this database? Pros and cons? Strengths and weaknesses? Basically, is it worth my time? Thank you in advance for your responses.

Definitely worth your time if you have New England ancestors.  They have recently changed their website name to AmericanAncestor.org and are branching out but are still very strong in New England.  I've been a member for a number of years and have found lots on their site.  In addition to the databases they have training videos and access to experts in  New England research. The library itself is fantastic as are their publications.
