I was reading on the discussion board about some one looking to get a marker for their great grand father who died in the civil war. I think this is great and adds to our collective history. However, I think we can do more to Honor and add to the collective history of today. The history that isn't here yet. What I mean is honoring the soldiers who have given their life in this most recent war. We need to do a little something for the ones we hurt for, miss and cry for today...and probably tomorrow also.

Take a look at the following web site, it may explain it better than I am doing now.

I am the Commander of the William Kenyon Australian Confederates Camp 2160 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Inc. in Australia. Any soldier who participated in the American Civil War, Confederate or Union, or in any American war, if they do not have a headstone on their grave, anywhere in the world, can get a FREE headstone or bronze memorial plaque for the grave from the American Veterans Administration, I have acquired 30 for descendants for their ancestors graves to date. Union descendants can also acquire "Presidential Certificates" honouring their ancestors service, signed by the President of the United States. I would be happy to assist anyone who would like my help. Contact me at jamesmgray@bigpond.com.
