Arline,
Lizzie can NOT be Horace's mother.
There are several things wrong with this. I am not sure where you got the info that this Lizzie McCrary was the mother of your Horace McCray, but I will list why this is not correct.
1. Lizzie Carden was born 1871. Horace was Born in 1872. Was she one years old when Horace was born?
2. Horace lists his father as Blunt McCray. Lizzie was married to Columbus "Lum" McCrary
3. Lum McCrary was born about 1873, Horace was born in 1872.........................
4. Horace was African American, both Lizzie and Columbus "Lum" McCrary were caucasian.
I don't mean to sound harsh here, but facts need to be checked and PROVEN before taken as fact. ALSO when this kind of misinformation and faulty research is posted on the internet other people pick up what you posted and take it as fact not checking the facts and PROVING it themselves.
I have seen several places on the internet with post claiming different parents for Horace, all wrong. This misinformation makes it hard to find the REAL parents. Info should not be posted until proven.
As said it also stops the wrong info being passed on by those that come after us. Remember we may come and go, but what is posted on the internet last forever
