Myss-

I had a brainstorm and I am currently doing a search on the Fulton Site, looking for hits for "Dick Baker" and found a Dick Baker whose wife worked professionally as "Gertie Harrington". They had a two year, 6 week old son, die 1882-1884 in Detroit, Michigan.

I wonder if Geraldine had another acting name?

Hi Kate,

no, I haven't come across any other reference to a different stage name. It appears from a brief search there was a Gertie Harrington who was American, and went to an American school. Geraldine was educated in England by her mother. Although some entertainers did have more than one stage name, it seemed important that Geraldine was known by Camille D'Elmar in her advertisements that I've found. Also, I think her mother would have discouraged using Gertie or Gertrude, as it was her half-sister's name. It's possible Dick Baker was married before to Camille.

I've gone through the different threads, but I did not find the attachment for the Rochester/ Syracuse memorial that you mentioned, and can't find anything on line for it.

This morning on Encore cable tv there was an old 1935 movie called "Annie Oakley", about Annie and her time in the Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West show. They showed Cody briefly on his horse, and the announcer stood and bellowed about the equestian groups which rode up. I think it was part of the really WW show in the movie.
Hi-
I was trying to refind the 1902 reference to a service for Camille- I saved a bunch of articles and now I have to find them LOL. My computer likes to save them willy nilly.
Hi Kate,--oh I can sympathize. All my research is on my old computer, and it shuts itself off at any time, making it difficult to find stuff even if I did organize.

So, a little research on the Rochester scene. DUH! It is the home of George Eastman of Eastman Kodak. OTH Chicago, I read elsewhere originally made 4 out of 5 movies in America at one time.

So that leads me to think, there were a couple of Wild West shows, I think, that were filmed. Perhaps, William was in one.
