I live in Germany currently, very interested in the genetics of family DNA and gene recombination, family inheritance, etc. Am on Ancestry.com if any one needs a look up. I have done my genetics to see what is actually in my DNA now I need to finish it off by getting the paper trail together so it all makes sense. Origionally from Detroit. Glad to be here!

Hello,
I just started searching my family this year. The passing of my father helped spur me on. My family on my fathers side comes from Breckinridge Co. Ky. Elders, Beavins, Gedlings and Walkers.
My quest is to find a photo of my Grandfather, Paul Eugene Elder Born 1899 in Breckinridge Co. KY and died in 1950 in Cannelton Indiana.
Ed I googled Paul Eugene Elder and right at the top there names came up 1 is a group sheet, so check around and see what you can find.
All the best

I'm Jenny and am currently working on several different families, some on my parents family, my husband family and others for a friend. The names on my mother's maternal side is Webb and Thompson from Lawrence County, Kentucky; the paternal names are Schaffner and Gehring, Schaffner's are from Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany and settled in Jefferson County, Kentucky. I know Gehring is from Germany, but I'm not sure of the town in Germany. The names on my father's side are Baker and Johnston from Northeast Ohio. I think Johnston's were from Pennsylvania. I'm working on my husband's name Barker they migrated from North Carolina to Virginia to Kentucky and some of the early family went to Indiana, My friends family names are Johnson, Hall, Meade, McCray mostly from Letcher and Floyd Counties in Kentucky.
Although, I am currently working on all families listed above, my main focus is trying to find my 4th Great Grandparents on my mother's Schaffner family. I know my 3rd Great Grandparents are Bernhard "Ren" Schaffner born 1834 in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany died 1 Feb 1878 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. His wife Katherine "Kate" Luhr born November 1830 in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany died 1 July 1908 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. I do have Bernhard's death record along with his wife Kate's, but I haven't done any active searching in Germany or anywhere for Bernhard's parents.
HI everyone,
Just joining the group today-researching Cox, Flannery and Stankard and Kenzie in Ireland.
Hi -
Just recently got into geneaology when my mother deemed me the "family historian" and gave me all of her mother's vaudeville memorabilia. My mother has been searching for her ancestors since the late 1960's. I have only helped her find a few pieces of information (documents supporting what she aready knew). So far I have hit more brick walls than anything else. Both of my mother's parents had multiple marriages (not at the same time) and I can not find a single one of their marriage certificates! (It's making me crazy.) Any suggestions?
Also, does anyone have information about adoption practices (in Illinois) during the late 1890-early 1900's?
I am working on preserving the vaudeville memorabilia as well as looking for a repository for it as well as family genealogy - both sides of the family seem to be equally difficult. (but that is no surprise)
I'm looking for Richardson, Luhman, Fischer, Duensing (or Deunsing), Nobles and Flowers.
