I am Kim Delane Paddock. Robert Paddock, who came here with his 2nd wife Mary Holmes-Paddock in 1634 and started a family. Captain Zacheria Paddock who married Debora Sears (yes, that Sears). My 8th Great grandparents marriage is noted on page 112 of the book: The Inbred Descendents of Charlemagne. http://archive.org/stream/jstor-6534/6534_djvu.txt. FYI. I am a 1st cousin once removed and eight times down the line from Benjamen Franklin (AKA that old cad!). He was funny and entertaining to women it seems. One of my uncles married a Folger 1st cousin to Benjamen Franklin it's by marriage. The Paddock children married into the Mayflower descendency, the Folgers, the Sears, the Macy's and so on. The 1st people to come to the new world were wealthy and elite. So good families married into other good families and all of them are founding families of this country. Robert Paddock was a blacksmith and he made out for America at the ripe age of 46 and had never had any children from his 1st wife. Mary Holmes was, of course, in good young child bearing age as was required to come to this country. The Paddock name will not be found on any ships' roll as we came here on private Paddock ships that traded in the new land and had since 1596. If you are a Paddock know that your namesake cannot be erased from history. I am tracking down a possible ancestoral link to the Emperor Constantine and the Paddock name in ancient times.

I am new to this site as I only found it recently in an Email. I have been researching different parts of my family since 1995, It took several years before I actually started finding any useful information on my father's side of Souriolle due to name spelling changes from Sorieul to Sauriol ,and from records being mostly in French. I was fortunate to run into a 3xcousin 1 removed who gladly shared much information that led me to more records and to the first sauriolle to come from France to Canada before moving to New England states of Mass, and NH. Recently I have been working on my maternal side and have block walled at my 4x great grandfather Henry Stultz b about 1748 and wife Elizabeth. He was a loyalist with The Westchester Refugees during the American revolution and removed to Nova Scotia at the end of the war. I have found records to be very limited in finding any information on him in the colonies. I have also found him confused with another man of the same name who was a patriot in war I am hoping to make a trip to New Brunswick where he had eventually settled and raised 10 children to see if I can get more concrete information to where he realy came from.

Hi, I am uncertain if I've already been here to introduce myself or not. So, if I have done so, I'll just say hello. If not, I'll say my name is April Lee Payne. I got interested in my family history when I was a kid. My Dad's family, in particular, although my maternal Grandmother would often tell stories of her own family and the times in which she was raised, all fascinating stuff. My Dad's family has been disconnected for his overseas relatives since his paternal grandfather was killed on the job, back in 1905. He was a railroad Section foreman. What's curious about my situation, is it was my maternal Grandmother used to also tell me about my heritage on my father's side. I think I understand a bit better, now, as to why that was. She was very impressed. First my paternal second great-grandmother's maiden name was Scribner (as in the pen, as Grandmother put it). And through her husband, we are related to the Seviers. As some may know, John Sevier was the very first governor of Tennessee, and he is credited with having founded that State. (We won't go into the details of the failed State of Franklin … everybody makes mistakes.) However, I am now knee-deep in my family history on both sides. I am very happy to have randomly come across this site. I was busy looking up something about Fort Watauga and here I am.

Hello, I am a descendant of George Henderson son of Peter Henderson & Anne Maria Halcrow! Peter was the son of Peter Henderson & Eleanor Whitford. Peter was the son of Peter Henderson & Charlotte Yorkston. Peter came over from Caithness Scotland with the HBC party & was the son of Dunbar Henderson & Janet Malcolm.
Anne Halcrow was the daughter of David Halcrow & Elizabeth Corrigal. David was the son of James Corriagal & Hannah Anderson. James was the son of Peter Corrigal & Christianna. Hannah was the daughter of James Taylor Anderson & Mary Suzette Demoran. James was the son of Harry Anderson & Kathryn Corrigal. Harry was the son of Thomas Anderson & Euphan Loutitt. Thomas was the son of William Anderson. Kathryn was the daughter of Adam Corrigal & Marjory
I am looking for more facts (names, dates, etc) as well as the history & geography of these descendants such as the Red River Settlement, Metis, Orkney & Caithness of Scotland!

Hello everybody! Love and Respect to all! My Dad grew up in Carrier Mills, IL which was formerly known as the Lakeview Settlement. My Paternal Grandfather and Great Grandfather came out of Lawrence Co. IL though they lived for a while in Pope Co. IL at Miller Grove. My Grandma Cole was a Lyles. The Lyles settled Lyles Station, in Gibson Co. Indiana. Poppa Ward Cole (my Grandfather) was the son of Mary Leola Taylor Cole. Her mother was Elizabeth Blackwell. Newton Blackwell was married to Lucy Ann Day whose parents were Jinsey Pettiford and William Day. Jinsey was William Pettiford (Rev War) daughter. William Day was the son of Jesse Day and Prissy Bass Day. All of these Day, Bass and Pettifords came out of North Carolina which is why I am so grateful to Erin Bradford and her extensive research. This is the tip of the iceberg of my family and I am always willing to help others!

My great grandfather was from schleswig. He iimigrated to iowa in 1854.My gretagrandmother was from Riga,latvia and of Russian ethnicity.He was Jahn Jahn, she was Elizabeth Tach.They moved to Breman near st.louis in the 1870's.They went to the Roman Catholic church.
I live in hillsboro,mo. I am 70 and no nothing of their birthplaces, marriage or their families in Europe.Only that they were very Strict and their children married in their faiths and culture.I believe they were marriied in Davenport,Iowa.In my ancestry there are Swede's,Germans and English from Norwich,england.
Jahn Jahn may haven an advocte of the Turners.They refered to themselves as Prussians.

Hello everyone--
My wife (Ann Ransom) and I (Gerald Baldwin) have been dabbling in researching our roots for several years but since retiring a few years ago, we have gotten a bit more serious about it. This fall, we even took a road trip through the mid-Atlantic region (USA, of course) to see a few places where our ancestors settled, fought and/or died. We're still working on filling in some holes in our USA trees but have started tracking down ancestors from England and Germany and that's getting tougher. Currently I am looking for Baldwins from Hertfordshire in England in the 13th and 14th century.

I think the Milford Baldwins are related way back in England prior to the 14th century but my branch comes through the Baldwins in Chester Pennsylvania.
