Is your personal page Gift App an intrusion? how to resite it.
I note we now have a Gift Appl logo box right at the top of our personal page, before we reach our mail, our topics &c. There is sits right under the Welcome! Some Welcome! I feel moved to object. Does anyone else feel this is a presumption?
Personally, I suspect those involved in having agreed to its inclusion and placement are getting a back-hander from the company who hope to make money out of it. I could be wrong. Maybe it's just my suspicious and cynical mind. Anyway, having taken the advice of Genwise's newsletter on how to move it, I have now done so. It now has pride of no place at the foot of my page as unfortunately, I could not eradicate the beastie altogether. Well, no need to put up wit stuff like that!
If you don't receive their newsletter, and would also like to banish said intrusion as far as possible, here's how:
As you'll have found, you can't delete the icon altogether from your personal page, however, you can move it to a less intrusive position:
Simply hover your mouse pointer over the grey title bar saying "Gifts Received", just above the gift application icon. The pointer will appear in a cross-like format. At that point left click on it and drag it to your preferred position on the page. To make it easier to move, you can zoom out your page beforehand so that you can see most of it without scrolling up or down and thereby enabling you to transfer the gift app in one or maybe only 2 moves. If your page is too full for that, simply drag it and park it temporarily and scroll down a bit and repeat the action till you're satisfied that it is as far away as you can get it.
