I reside in a small seaside town named Colwyn Bay in North Wales, UK. Can anyone over in America provide any assistance in progressing my research into the following family???
Born in Caernarfonshire, Wales in the UK, Isabella was one of 9 surviving children of Richard and Theresa Williams. Of the 9 surviving siblings, she and 7 others emigrated to the States. It is believed Isabella entered America in 1902 (as recorded in 1920 American census).
She initially lived in Utica, NY, but soon moved to Brookline MA, where on the 12th Feb 1907, she married Michael Joseph Sullivan, (b. 29th Sept 1875). At the time of their marriage, she was recorded as being a Maid and he a Groom.
During their marriage and whilst residing in Brookline they had four children, Marion R. Sullivan, b. 13th March 1907; Isabella T. (Theresa??) Sullivan, b. 1908(?); James Joseph Sullivan, b. 20th May 1909; Catherine Elizabeth Sullivan, b. 18th November 1911.
In 1918, Michael was working as a 'Chore / Stable / General Hand' for a W D Hunt at 30 Warren Street Brookline; he, Isabella and their children were residing at 11, Leverett Street, Brookline.
In the 1930 American census, the four children, aged 23, 22 20 and 18 respectively, were still all residing at the family home in Brookline; at the time Marion was unemployed, Isabella a laundress, James a Clerk in a Market and Catherine a Clerk in a Department Store.
In 1942, Isabella and Michael were still alive and were residing at 5 Inwood Street, Dorchester, Brookline, MA. To date, this is as much as I know of the family.
Isabella was my G.Grandfather Fredrick Williams' sister. Fredrick was the only sibling to remain in Wales.
In the past year (with considerable assistance) I have managed to trace the descendants of 6 of the 8 emigrant siblings, and have made contact with well over a hundred extended family members. I would dearly like to find out what happened to Michael and Isabella and their four children as recorded above. any assistance in completing my research would be very much appreciated.
Diolch yn fawr (thank you)
Gwyndaf (Williams)
