John P. Gibson, b. circa 1799 in SC

I am searching for parents' names and names of siblings of John P. Gibson, my gr-gr-gr-grandfather, b. 1799 in SC. He migrated to MS and married Margaret J. Williams on January 3, 1843 in Monroe County, MS. Joseph Gibson posted the marriage bond. Joseph died shortly thereafter, and his will was probated, but John P. Gibson received nothing from Joseph's estate. John and Margaret raised their family, which included my gr-gr-grandmother, Malverda Gibson, in the Cherry Hill Community of Calhoun County, MS. Were John and Joseph cousins, or was Joseph his uncle? Who were Joseph Gibson's parents? Maybe this information will help me find the names of John's parents.
