Looking for Clarification of Heathcock name

My GGG Grandfather's obituary states that he was born in Healthcock, Devonshire, England. I cannot fine a Heathcock listed in Devonshire or Devon, as it is now known.  Does anyone know if there ever was a place called Heathcock at one time and perhaps the name has changed?
