Moses Starr Family Of Van Buren Co Iowa And Benton Co Oregon

I recently received some information about this family. Does anyone happen to have (or know the whereabouts) of the 1845 letter Moses Starr Sr wrote to his son James when the Starrs still lived in Iowa? It is one of the only documents I know of that states anything about a younger Moses in his family.

I am looking for any small (or large) clues that Moses Sr had a son Moses born in 1817. Everyone indicates this is true but there is no real evidence. It is needed for a DAR application. Another mystery is that it is all over the Internet that Moses (1817) died in 1890 – but no one says where that information came from. No docs, no cemetery records, not even a real place except the last we know of him in 1880 is in Brown Co Indiana.

Can you help me? I sure would appreciate any ideas or information.

Patricia Try looking at this , Star & Stuebinger, My daughter was married to a Stuebinger and they have Star in thire line. From upper state NY all the way to TX.
