Does anyone have access to the National Burial index? I am trying to find out where a certain ancester is buried and apparantly this software may have it. It is for a Jesse Higgins who died in 1840 in Elham, Kent. I am trying to work out between two Jesse Higgins which is the correct one and finding out the info (age at death etc) may help me do that.

I have a copy of the third and latest edition of the NBI which includes the first two editions. Elham in Kent is still not one of those parishes which have been transcribed. I did try http://www.kentarchaeology.org.uk/Research/Libr/MIs/MIsElham/01.htm as well but there is no Memorial Inscription for that surname in that parish. Best for you to check this yourself and look at neighbouring parishes or other places he may have died
Thanks so much for looking for me. I will keep looking as you suggested.
