REDING, John U.-Germany to Maryland

I am searching for information on John U. REDING, born in Germany (Hesse Darmstadt) between 1827 and 1832, depending on source.

I first find him in Baltimore, MD on the 1860 census with first wife Anna WOLF and their children Frederick and Caroline and possibly his mother Elizabeth. On the 1870 census, Baltimore, John, wife Anna, children Caroline, Barbara, John, August, Elizabeth and Rosa. Of all the children I have only been able to follow Elizabeth and Rosa. ON the 1880 census he is with 2nd wife Christina who was formerly married to Henry Zulauf with kids from both marriages. On the 1890 Veterans Schedule I found someone could poosibly be John. On the 1900 census, Baltimore, John, Christina, their sons Charles and Louis and granddaughter Mary E. SCHULTZ, age 10. On the 1910 census is John, Christina and Mary SCHULTZ, age 18.  According to John's death certificate he was born in Germany 30 July 1832 and died in Baltimore 27 April 1917.

I would like to learn more about John's kids from his first marriage, his parents, etc.
