Searching for my Tommola ancestry!

My great grandfather, Vaino (small possibility of waino) Tommola came to the united states from Finland (I believe ...possibly Kymi area or southern finland). He came with his wife and had 2 children. Vaino and his wife, helga (maybe helda), died in corning, ny possibly due to a flu pandemic...their children were 2 and 4 and orphaned.

My family seems to dead end and give up once they get to Vaino and cannot find more information, but I am still trying. I search tons of parishes, and the only tommolas I found through 1860 were in southern finland.

DOes anyone know where I could find find records through 1900?
