Stead/Penfold Family History

I am looking for more info on my ancestors. Mainly Penfold.

My parents were Bertie and Nora Rose (nee Penfold)  My mother was born at Stone House, (formerly the old Battle Workhouse) North Trade Road, Battle, East Sussex. on the 29th May 1928. Her parents were Jesse and Agnes Ann Brooks ( nee Western). At the time of my mother's birth her father Jesse was a casual Farm Labourer  at  Udiam Farm, Bodiam, Hawkhurst in Kent.

Agnes was born in Portsmouth in Hampshire in 1903. Her father's name was was William Charles Brooks Western.

Jesse was born in Eastbourne in1897. They married at Eastbourne Registry Office on the 24th November 1923. Jesse was a news vendor at the time of their marriage. Jesse's father was Edwin Penfold.
