Surname WESTERN, especially in Halberton Devon and Somerset.

New member of this site, just starting out with you.

Wondering if anybody else has an interest in the surname WESTERN(E).    

My husbands ancestors appear on the records for the first time in Devon Muster Index of 1569, they were Yeoman and Husbandmen in Halberton, Devon which is 3 or 4 miles from Tiverton. Three generations of Humfry WESTERNE's star at the top of our tree.

The WESTERN familes stayed in Halberton for many generations, before making a move to Wookey in Somerset.  From there they moved to Bath,  then Western super Mare, both in Somerset, before making the final leap into Bristol in mid 1850's.

Would be very interested to hear from anybody else researching WESTERNE WESTERN WESTREN etc in the above places.
