Lisa, What a show-off - - - kidding of course. I hope you are in the DAR. A comptariot of mine has Sears ancestors in NJ. Is that where yours are from?

Earl
hehehehe...well, what can I say :+)
I am in the UDC, but not DAR,,,,YET....joining soon, as well as the Descendants of Washington's Army at Valley Forge. I have just found out about it. My Sears line comes from Virginia.....or at least as far back as I know. They have been here in Georgia since about the mid-1800's. One of my guys is buried about 15 miles from where I sit right now! He is the one who saw the surrender. Several others within striking distance.
You are welcome! I was glad I found out about it, too. My guy is on the Valley Forge Muster Roll....I just recently got all of his pension records that had a last piece of documentation I needed. The pension papers tell so much! I have one who says in his papers that he was in 'eye view' of Cornwallis at the surrender and knew Gne. Lafayette and Gen. Washington...Washington is my #1 idol :+)) Let me know if you join the Valley Forge Society.
Let me know how it goes! I am collecting my proof now...need a couple of things, but should be easy to get.
GOOD LUCK!
Lisa when was you William Addington born? I have a Capt. William Addington who is my 5th great grandfather. Mine was born in 1750 in London England. He was married to Margaret Cromwell. My 4th great grandfather is Charles Cromwell Addington.
HI
My William Addington was born in 1759...he was born in south carolina......... His father was Henry. William is buried in Franklin, NC. He actually lived in Union Co., GA, but was at his son's house in Franklin when he passed. I recognize the names of your Addington's. Seems like I remember a book for sale on Ebay several years ago about the Addington family. I looked at it and decided it wasn't about my direct line....and I believe I remember the name Charles Cornwell Addington.
