Hello My Byrne connection is my great-greatgrandfather, James Byrne b. ca 1817 in Ireland probably Co. Wicklow. His wife was Catherine Broderick. They came to Boston in 1845 with children James, Luke, Patrick, Catherine and one more daughter whom I can't think of at the moment. They eventually made their way to Syracuse NY. My greatgrand parents were James Byrne and Margaret Ford. They lived also in Cazenovia NY where he worked for the railroad. James was in the Irish Brigade in the Civil War. We know he was at Gettysburg. Anyone related to this bunch?

My 2xgreat-grandfather was Thomas Byrne born circa 1815 in possibly County Sligo Ireland. I know nothing about his parents etc. I don't know when he came to America either. He married Mary McAndrew in Washington Co.,IN. on 28 June 1839, They lived in Knox Co.,IN.(the next county over). He died 7 Nov.1890 in Vincennes,Knox Co.,IN. She died 3 Feb.1887 in Vincennes,Knox Co.,IN. I descend through their son John Byrne who was born 14 Dec.1847 in Vincennes,Knox Co.,IN. He married Martha Mary Caughran 29 Aug.1869 in Lawrence Co.,IL.(across the Wabash River from Knox Co.,IN.). John Byrne died 18 Aug.1814 in Vincennes,Knox Co.,IN. Martha Mary Byrne died 30 Oct.1920 in Vincennes,Knox Co.,IN.

I was told the original name in Ireland was O"Byrne.
