It would be an interesting project to do, James. And fortunately, there are only about 50 people in each of our lineages. I'm adding the information I gather on my lineage to Eleanor on my own GEDCOM using MyHeritage.  I particularly like this program because I can make reports in pdf.  This is what I'll most likely send to my 10-year old great niece when I've got it all down.  Having all the links and references will be great for her should she ever want to do a report on Eleanor or any of the other people in our tree, she'll have a head start.  The best thing is that she's already interested in genealogy.  What a great way to get interested in history!

I think it would be interesting to develop a bibliography for each person in your lineage, I did sort of start one on Eleanor here, can anyone add to it (book titles or internet links)? How about John "Lackland"?

How cool is this! Thanks for all the links Jim.  These are great to have.

As you said, there are no contemporary pictures of Eleanor, but think there is one object, such as a coin with her on it.  And the only relict from her is (I believe) a wedding present that she gave Louis.  I can see it in my mind's eye, but am not sure how to describe it.  Was it a vase?

Some interesting websites with biographical sketches of Eleanor & genealogies (I am not recommending these sites, just pointing them out, beware if no sources are given, treat them with caution). Couple of sites that have images are interesting but no contemporary picture exists of Eleanor, just her tomb effigy.

Pete,

Alice de Lusignan Le Brun (1224 - 1291) is not a daughter of John, therefore your lineage from Eleanor fails at this point.
