If anyone here has ancestral roots in the 3 states of Mexico of Jalisco, Zacatecas, and Aguascalientes, I have access to more data. Feel free to ask a question.

you're welcome, Phillip! I researched ANCHONDO. I also looked into RootsWeb and found a few ANCHONDO Family trees there but it didn't contain those specific ancestors. Have you tried the Message Board in Chihuahua and also the Surname Board yet? They may be helpful.

I want to thank Jose Carlos de Leon for his interest. Did you search Anchondo or Anchonda? There are something like 320 Anchondo's on FamilySearch for the state of Chihuahua. But I can find no Ricardo Anchondo either. My information on Ricardo and Juana came from Feliciano's death certificate. Unfortunately, all the ones who could solve my problem are deceased. Phillip.

Regards Phillip Marr's question the ANCHONDA family roots, I did a search on FamilySearch and discovered that there were over 60 ANCHONDAS in Chuhuahua, Mexico! None of them were the names you asked about. I've discovered, in my own case, that by researching the same surname people, I was able to piece together enough information to lead me to the particular ancestor that I was looking for! It's worth a try. One more note, in my own ancestral searches, while looking at micro-film from Mexican Parishes, I noticed that many people did not have surnames, i.e. Juana. I was informed by some advanced-search genealogists that it was probably because those people were of Mexican Indian Nationality, which most did not have surnames. That's possibly why Juana wasn't listed with a surname.

Regards to Phillip Marr comment. LOL! I hope that there's no disputes! What I meant was if someone disagrees with something or a method used, it's OK to discuss it here so that we can all learn and benefit from it!

Regards to Heather Valdez Chambers comment. Heather read the above "How to Research For Family Tree" in the Discussion Forum.. I show some good pointers on how to do that research in Mexico.

I am intrigued by the comment "controversy discussions is VERY welcomed." This is a genealogy research site? Where is the controversy in that? I can see controversy if someone disputes a person's paternity. I can see controversy perhaps in whether or not one's ancestors are Spanish or Basque. I don't see the need for controversy in a site dedicated to the friendly and mutually helpful research into one's family history.

I am researching the Anchondo family of San Miguel de los Anchondo in the state of Chihuahua. I am mainly interested in one family line, Feliciano (b1878)and his sister Fermina (abt 1891) Anchondo. They migrated to Texas in 1905. Feliciano was married to Maria Rubio, also of Chihuahua. The parents of Feliciano and Fermina were Ricardo Anchondo and Juana (no maiden name). If anyone can help me find out more information about Ricardo and Juana, especially the names of their ancestors, it will be greatly appreicated, Thank you, Phillip.

I am researching the Valdez family. My great grandfather was Ysidro DeAvila Valdez b. 1896. He married Mariana Guillen b. 1900. They had children in Zacatecas, Mexico. They moved to the U.S. and went back a couple of times that I am aware of and then by 1970, stayed in the U.S. Does anyone know where to search for records in Mexico?

Thanks
Heather
