Hi folks. Robinson is a tough name to research but I can always hope. I have a Joshua Robinson born to unknown parents in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area about 1819. He ended up in Cincinnati Ohio about 1842 and later Newport, Kentucky where he died in 1872 leaving widow Hannah Jane Peacock Robinson and numerous children. Most of the family seemed to stay in the Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky area but Hannah Jane Peacock Robinson in the 1890s moved to Chicago with married daughter Katherine Robinson Keilbey. Hannah Jane Peacock Robinson died in Chicago in 1916 with her name shown as Robison on the death certificate. If that sounds at all familiar to anyone please let me know.
That's a good point, Diana, they were pretty loose with their spelling back then. We're at least sure of our spelling back to the original immigrants, John & Katheryn Robinson in 1685, but before that who knows.

Thanks for the info. Victor - that is the group that we are in - I associate it with FTDNA. We've had some interesting results and have also had quite a few matches with the ROBBINS surname group, which surprised me; something which all of you might consider if you're looking at a brick wall.
Thanks for the welcome, Pamela. Robinson is my maiden name.
I have a straight line back to Rev. John Robinson, of Sturton-le-Steeple, England. It's in my "We're Related" pedigree on Facebook, but I'm not sure how to import or export that info, or if that's possible.
