The Farmer's Wife

There is a wonderful book, still in print, I believe, called "The Diary of A Farmer's Wife, 1796 - 1797." It was written by Anne Hughes.

Her intoduction reads:
"Anne Hughes, her boke in wiche I rite what I doe, when I hav thee tyme, and beginnen wyth the daye, Feb ye 6 1796.

A worthwile read and insight in to the woman's role on the farm.
