From my research, it appears, that there are three different lines of Neelys in Mobile, Alabama. I am frustrated because the "experts" I have talked to want to lump them together. However, I have found no substantial connection between the families of P.P. Neely ( prominent protestant minister), Alexander Neely ( came from Canada with strong French ties and were timber merchants) and My family begun in Mobile by John Neely ( a butcher from Cincinnati, Ohio) who married a woman, Francis Hernandez, of Latin descent and whose children and grandchildren were often counted as mulatto and black as they married member of other local creole families. Can anyone shed any light about any connection (or disconnection) of these families?
