George Allen - For Caren

Once again we are cousins :)
I have JUST finished researching George Allen of Sandwich trying to ascertain if his son Ralph was MY Ralph Allen. Turns out he isn't, but I have tons of information on George and his family. I will post some of it as soon as I have a chance. I can tell you that George arrived in Plymouth with his wife, three sons and a servant in 1635 with Rev. Hull's group of anabaptists. Several of his sons preceded him, along with MY Ralph Allen, who does have a family connection but I don't know what it is, except that it is not that of George's son.
However, he was made an administrator of George's will, even though he did not appear in it, and he is found among the Allen siblings getting fined and arrested for their Quaker leanings. If you have any other information that might help here, I'd love to see it.

Well it's been a while since I've done any research on the line but I DO know that I have many ancestors who were amongst the founders of the Quakers and founded the town of Hampton (now Northhampton). Im not sure when my 1600's Allen's came over or what ship. Most of my 1600's ancestors came on ships in the Winthrop Fleet.

You may possibly be thinking of Sandwich rather than Hampton. I have a lot of ancestors from both towns, and the Quakers were quite active in Sandwich, while I am not aware of Quaker activity in Hampton. However, having said that, the Wing family who were descendants of Rev Steven Batchelder, considered the main founder of Hampton, DID remove to Sandwich, where at least one of them married into the Allen family, and all of them became either Quaker sympathizers or Quakers themselves.
I have a lot of information on my ancestors in this era, and I will be more than happy to share with you any of it that pertains also to your ancestors. -
