Oklahoma/Kansas Mennonites (Hinz, Ediger, Dalke)
My huband's family, surname Hinz, came to the US in 1874 and settled with many other Russian/German Mennonites in Kansas. Some of the then moved onto Korn (later spelled Corn) about 1890 in Washita County, Oklahoma.
Does anyone else have Mennonite descendants from this area with information about what their live were like or personal accounts of difficulties they encountered?

Hello! I am from eastern Kansas, and I have alot of Mennonite and Amish on my mom's side. Some of the names include TRAULl, WALTERS, KNISELYand KRIDERr. The KRIDERs came from Pennsylvania (via Cass Co, Indiana) to Newton, Kansas in the 1890's. The KNISELY/ TRAUL family came from New Philadelphia, Tuscarawas, Ohio to Cadmus, Linn, Kansas in the 1880's. And the WALTERS came from DeWitt Co, Illinois (and Pennsylvania before that) to Twin Springs (near Cadmus), Linn, Kansas around 1863. None of these families were still living as Mennonite or Amish at the time, though. I have many many other family branches that were Amish & Mennonites from Switzerland mostly. Some were a bit French and Dutch.
