Tried to export a tree from Ancestry into FTM 2010 and received error code
HTTP 403. May have to disable firewall or antivirus program, who knows.
1st gliche with new FTM. There is always a gliche.

I'm exporting one of my Ancestry trees right, it's not that big of a tree, and it seems like it is taking along time. But to be fair, it's also got pictures and a lot of sources, so we will see. As soon as I installed it it brought over tree from FTM 2009 without me doing anything. I also recently got RootsMagic a friend reccommended(NEHGS also likes) but I am so used to FTM, Roots is suppose to have nicer charts. I will let this group know how it goes.

Cool about getting your FTM. I just ordered mine yesterday. I have Legacy (full version) but what interested me was the fact that you supposedly can download everything that is in your Ancestry file and with Legacy you can only download a GEDCOM file into it. Let us know how you like it. I can't wait to get mine. It will be interesting to compare both softwares as I really do like Legacy a lot and it makes some nice reports and charts. I wonder how FTM will be in that regard.

I just got my FamilyTreemaker 2010 in the mail today. I haven't installed it yet, hope it is everything they promised. I am getting tired of buying new treemaker every 1-2 years.

Lynn, I feel very much as you do except it appears my problem is more severe than yours. I have had nothing but headaches from AOL for months now. Of course I want to pick up my mail the first thing in the morning but when I enter my password, it is rejected. I try another, than another. I just can't make a connection. I have been writing down the names until I have a page covered. It isn't possible to write to them, but there is a telephone number that is a free area code. My problem is that no one seems to be able to explain to me why this happens. It is so frustrating and can cause you to lose much valuable time. Right now I tried to get through and was rejected. If you ever hear what the problem is, please write about it. If you and I were the only ones having the problem I wouldn't be so curious. I never had trouble before they changed their website. Well, anyway, good luck! Barbara

Yes I had the same problem; told me to sign out of another computer, but I hadn't been signed in anywhere else. It was ok after a day.

I had a problem getting on Ancestry last week and called them. They said it could be because I hadn't signed OUT when I had finished working there.

I have a question and hope some one can help me. Is anyone else having problems in the last three days in logging in to Ancestry.com? I've been trying and it is denying my password or log in name. It states unknown. It has been paid since they billed my credit card. I even tried sending an email but so far no answer. I wanted to add some more information on one of my trees that I have listed there. Thank you for any help or suggestion.

Betty, I don't know if this is your problem or not, but something like that happens to me when I log in to Ancestry on a different computer and forget to log off when I'm done; i.e. just close the browser instead of logging off. I help at the local Family History Center, sometimes work at the library on my laptop, and even work at home on either a laptop or my older desktop.

Hope your problem is solved by now, but if not, maybe this idea will help.

I am on Ancestry right now and no problems. Looks like Betty will have to call them. How unfortunate! I would not be happy about that situation. Hope that gets solved for you ASAP.
