My brick wall is my gg/gmother, Henrietta Knight, b.1860, in Florida. Married Daniel Bradbury Hunter around 1877, as they already had two children in the 1880 Census, living in Palestine, FL (North Central, btwn Lake City and Alachua). Can't find her parents.  She is not in the 1870 Census, but I do know that there are pages missing from that census for New River (later, Bradford County). Perhaps she went by another name until her marriage.  There are Knights all over this area, but they didn't keep great records.

I'm wondering how I can find old church records (where would they be kept if the church is now defunct), because I know that the Knights were largely Primitive Baptist, and there must be baptism records, marriage records, etc. somewhere out there.  Thanks for any help!

1809 john Memel (should be Meynell but sometimes Mennel/Mennell/Maynell and so on) married Sarah Vaux St Peters Monkwearmouth. They had children Mary. Richard Vaux, Ann, John, Margaret, Elizabeth. John died 1860 Sunderland, age 76. His occupation was noted as Sawyer on his death cert., Joiner (Master) on his wife's death cert and Mariner on one of the records I found. As a lot of this branch of Meynells were seamen, I'm so far assuming this is correct. I am unable to find a Baptism record for him and wondered if you can help here please? I have been stuck on this for a few years now. John snr's sons Richard Vaux was a Shipwright (Master) in Kent and had many children by wives Jane Dawson and Caroline R Dawson before dying 1873 age 56, while John Jnr married Sarah Dowey 1850 Newcastle Upon Tyne - he was a shipwright, ships carpenter) they were noted Hartlepool, Wirral (Cheshire Birkenhead), 1851 Census Northfleet Kent, 1861 census Sunderland. John Jnr has no death record between the last child Margaret bn 1862/63 ( cannot find a birth registration for Margaret) and 1871 census when wife Sarah is a widow in Sunderland. A marriage of a John Meynell (Jnr) age 38 (widower carpenter (father John Meynell, joiner) took place in Chile 1865 between he and Christina Grant age 37, widower (father Neil Grant (Fisherman). Would love to know if I should claim this John as a deserter;-) but they could have avoided census records and sailed away. Are you able to help shed any light on these two Johns please to help me knock down those walls? Many thanks .....Carol

My brick wall is to find living relatives. My Grandmother came to Canada in 1909 from England as a Barnardo child.  I have all the details, we have the papers from Barnardo and I have ordered tons of certificates.  I have been looking for over 15 yrs.  THere were three girls left behind in England and we are looking for their children as they would be my Mom's first cousins or their children.  I have all the names and I noticed someone from England posted they would help for research there.....

THe names are Elizabeth, Eliza and Rose Mary Newland.  Rose was born roughly 1904 and we found a matching marriage record for her to Robert Baden Parker.  THeir parents are George Newland (passed in 1908) and ELizabeth Newman.  We found a remarriage for Elizabeth Louisa (the Mother) to one Harry Edwards.  I have pictures of Alice and Elizabeth.......Alice would have to be in her 30's.  Problem is Rose died when my Mom was only 10 yrs old and all of the letters she had with her sisters/Mother were destroyed by my Mom's stepmother.  Rose was born in Acton and the family seemed to live in that area as all marriages etc., were Acton/Brentford.  The older two girls were born in Kensington.   I have a lot more information if anyone thinks they may be able to help.  paulawhite34@hotmail.com  My Mom is now 77 and finding her Mother's family after so many years would be an absolute dream for her.

Hi,
My brickwall is my great-great-grandmother Mary Harriet Jackson born on 8-22-1808 in Greenville, South Carolina. To continue with my family tree I need the name of at least her father. I have all kinds of information about her after she married my great-great-grandfather Daniel Ballew. Her childrens births and deaths , where she lived in North Georgia and even the fact that she died in 1885 and is buried not one mile from where I live. How does a person find information on someone born before they were listed on the census. I believe hers would be 1810. I know about checking church records and the Historical Society but all ot these things have not panned out. My best bet is the 1810 census and the finding of her father. I have tried matching male Jackson names to hers and have gotten 0 infromation. Any help would be appreciated. Cindy58

My brick wall is on the Bradshaw part of my tree.I have information back to Joseph Cecil Bradshaw(Artist) b.1856 Manchester. Marries Emily Jane Slinger b. 1858 Scarborough.Have the birth cert.of their son Joseph Cecil(Artist/Photographer) and his marr.cert
.Joseph and Emily are in the 1881 census living at 2 St.Johns Rd.Manchester.Other researchers and I, think there should be a connection to the Bagnall/Champion Bradshaws from the pottery area of Cheshire as they were all artists.Joseph Cecil's siblings were Arthur,George Herbert,Ada Lillian.
Has anyone any clues?

My family has not been able to find when our 2nd ggrandfather died. William B. Worsfold born in 1805, married Agnes Arnold (b. 1826 Spital, Middlesex) May21 1855 in Spital, Middlesex. Great grandfather Richard was born in Sep. 1855 in St. George in the East,London. Agnes remarried to George Wood in 1859. Because he used Benjamin or William as first name it is hard to find him. Both Richard and Agnes also can be found under Wasfold surname. William's father was George Worsfold b. in 1780. As far as we can find they were born in Horsham but that has not been an absolute fact. We believe that William died sometime between 1856 and 1859 but not sure where. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
