Hi, my name is Kerri and the other night at a presentation by Shauna, I became aware of this website.

For a heck of a long time (nearly 50 years), my Mother & I have been unable to trace the early life of my ancestor John Hunt.  John died in the Hunter Valley in 1841 & had six children (wife Catherine) - Mary Ann b 1824, Francis b 1828, Thomas b 1829, Henry b 1831. Jane Anne b 1833 & Maria Jane b 1836.  Francis is my ggg/father.  Family legend has it that John Hunt was born in Kent, was a Captian in Napoleon's army and came out to Australia with troops.  There are at least two 'John Hunt's' listed on shipping lists into NSW - both convicts.  There are also two 'John Hunt's' married to two different 'Catherine's', and we have been unable to really establish which one is correct.

Any help or relatives of these families would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Kerri
