Bach Family

Information

The Bach (Back) family settled in southeastern Kentucky in 1791. They also had relatives in southwestern Virginia. The family originally spelled their last name as "Bach," back in Germany, but the immigrants changed the spelling to "Back." Starting in the early 1900s, some members of the family went back to the original spelling of "Bach." That is why both spellings are used within the family.
