Bakers of Maury County, Tennessee
I am researching the family of Robert and Mary (Humphrey) Baker in Maury County, Tennessee. Robert Baker was born in 1810 in Tennessee and died 3 Apr 1870. He is buried in Goshen Church Cemetery in Maury County.
Robert and Mary were the parents of nine children:
Fielding H. Baker (1834 - 1864)
John A. Baker (1836 - 1860)
George W. Baker (1838 - 1930)
Sarah M.E. Baker (1840 - 1917)
William T. Baker (1842 - 1864)
Richard D. Baker (1844 - 1931)
Berry H. Baker (1849 - 1933)
David S. Baker (1850 - 1919)
James C. Baker (1854 - 1926)
Robert's parents were reportedly John and Mary (Devinny) Baker. I would like to learn more about John and Mary. Also where the family lived before coming to Maury County, Tennessee.

Are you aware of the Yahoo Baker Family Group? They've been around for about ten years or so and not only are there excellent Baker researchers exchanging information, there's also an extensive DNA data base that may help you. To that end, many Tennesee Baker's belong to what is known as the Yellow Baker DNA group and so you may with to start there. Not saying that this forum doesn't have great potential for Baker research, but it likely won't replace this well established group any time soon. -
