My Barnett's as far as we can tell came from Ireland to Pennsylvania and then into Virginia then into Kentucky. I have 3 different lines of Barnett's. I have tried very hard to connect them as they pretty much came the same route but can not seem to connect them up.
One line goes back to Robert Barnett that married Mary Montgomery. They had Alexander who married Dorcas Long and his son John I. married Sally Kenney who was my 3rd. great grandfarhter's daughter.
Another line was Henry J. Barnett who married Mary Grundy and had Ambrose.
One of his family married into my Porter's but at the moment I can't tell you the connection.

I have finally found my Ambrose Barnett and Porter connection. Took me a while. Ambrose son James Aris married Charlotte Glasscock and they had Elizabeth. Elizabeth married John A. Porter. John was the son of Henry Harrison Porter and Elizabeth Brady.
Henry J. who married 1. Jane Morron and 2. Mary Grundy. I show Jane Morron as the mother of his known children and have no children for Henry and Mary Grundy, but see notes below. Henry, b. 1704, is the son of William and Anna Rolfe Barnett. I have as children of Henry and Jane: James, Nimrod, Artax, Jonathan, Ambrose, Daniel, and John P.

Thank you Gwen for your reply. I have read all this before, but would like to ask you do you have sources for it? Where I read it before was in The Barnett Source Vol. 1 # 1 May 1986 Pg. 6 with no source given. In that article it says Henry J. first married Ann surname unknown, then Jane Morrow

I would also like to ask you have you seen the Old VA. Chart that shows what happened to Henry J.'s sons in the Rev. War and do you have a copy you can scan and put on here?
