Comment by Da Von Lynn Bearden I just located Missouri Digital Heritage site helpful in locating ancestors and Civil War and other war recordsfor some families. This site is through the sec. of state's office of Missouri. I found three of my GGrandfather's brothers listed.
I was busy yesterday, and didn't get to my mail. Thanks for the offer. I think the only thing I don't have is land records, but only go there if you are already doing your own. Needless to say, I have volumes of Goodheart information. :-) Good luck to you. If there are tombstones on that land, I just don't understand why people would not share! We visited a paternal ancestor's site in Pennsylvania and the people were wonderfully helpful. Some people live on fear I guess.
Also if you need anything from Bloomington or McLean County courthouse let me know I will see if I can help since I go there every mon-fri. I don't have alot of free time but would try to help.
Okey thanks as you see I answered your request and will only use your e-mail for personal or confidential info if that is okey. You can contact me however it is easiest for you. I will finish the Ashurst story what little is left that way in the near future. No big deal but it was rather heartbreaking about the graves and laws governing them. Bye.
I understand completely. I also have never quite figured out how to use this site. I get all confused. Anyway, if you get a genealogy program, like Family Tree Maker, I can send you what is called a gedcom, and save you a lot of work. I am a bit sloppy at entering things, but it would certainly be better than nothing!
My e-mail is ellenrt@cox.net. Also, do you have an e-mail for Bob Nau? We all ought to work together on the the Beardens.
Yes I realize that fatigue interfered with my thinking. Potter is my Paternal grandmother's maiden name. Also I apologize for transcribing and sending you info I tried to do it on your site as a private email but I guess I don't understand the process on doing links since you invited me as a friend I don't know what I need to do. I apologize for any problem if this is the case. Anyway as I mentioned I am a beginner ...the empty spaces on the Bearden side ? How far back do you feel confident about may I ask. I will focus on the Bearden surname and try and find any living cousins that are related to me Bob Nau is the only relative other than you that I am aware shares my interest in genealogy...So I would like to go back as far as possible and also find living distant relatives if possible. Maybe that is an almost dead-end search????I will not be pursuing the Ashursts as I have come to understand that some of the the graves of the Ashursts are on land owned by another family after all of these years and someone on line says the graves have been desecrated. I contacted Springfield and nothing can be done to visit the graves if the present landowners do not wish to allow access.I had called the court house and will share the rest of that story when I figure out how to send a private email or is that possle? Anyway maybe the list of current people researching Bearden surname is minimal??? I appreciate your time and input/info. What are the empty spaces you show can you share that with me?Please.?
Da Von, I'm having trouble repying, for some reason. You have some misinformation. David Apple was Josephine's grandson. His mother was Margaret Bearden Apple. He was my first cousin and his mother was my aunt. You also don't need to follow the Robbs-they are not connected to you. Of course there is no reason that you can't follow them if you want to. But you probably work more on the Ashursts and the Potters. We also have empty spaces on the Bearden side.
What is the family connection for D. Apple???Obtaining family photos is always a good thing!!! We all have family that we never got to meet.
I do not have a program, Went to geni.com and filled out the tree any info you have I have on Robb would be helpful. I see that John Goodheart gave his life for our country I worked with the present secretary of the DAR in Bloomington il. and still work with her husband. I am not a member due to time constraints. It is very moving to read the words and experience the emotion of these historical letters filled with love for his family and duty to his country contain. And to look at his picture well.....I do not have any info on the Robb family but am seeking such. i would like to find out more about my maternal grandmother's family Potter some day. I have spent a lot of time on the web trying to make connections to family even though this may not be what most people research (their maternal grandmother's family or do they?
Yes, that's right. Our parents were first cousins, well, half first cousins. They undoubtedly knew each other and you and I are second cousins. I grew up in Pekin but left for nursing school when I was 18 and never lived there after that.
