One of the oldest Bell groups is the CLAN BELL. The description from their rootsweb list: for anyone with a genealogical or historical interest in the Scottish Clan Bell. Topics include searches for Bell ancestors; discussions of Clan history, culture, food, language, tartans, coats of arms, and major events and battles that changed the course of the clan; current events such as the main Clan gathering, rebuilding of the Clan Castle, and museums; and notices of gatherings and meetings from the official regional and international Clan associations.

Hello Everyone. I am helping a friend who is a BELL. We went to Utah last March and tracked her back to John Denver BELL b-Nov 1864 Kansas, son of Samuel BELL b-Jul 1833 Kentucky and he is the son of John BELL,b 1808 Kentucky. Her family has always said that the name BELL was changed from CAMPBELL at one point. Wondering if any of you have heard this?

My husband's great-grandmother was Sarah Jane Bell, 1837 - 1917 married to Isaac Carter. Sarah was born in Gilcrux, Cumberland, England. Her parents were David Bell, 1797 - 1872 and Sarah Willis, 1797 - 1838. David Bell, along with his seven children, emigrated to Canada in 1849 settling in Trafalgar, Halton Co. Sarah Jane, along with husband Isaac Carter would later move to Huron Co., Ontario.

The Bell family I'm researching goes back to William Thomas Bell, Sr, born 1806 PA. Then to his son William Thomas Bell, Jr., born 1830 in PA, died 1916 in Coffey County, KS. His son John Willis Bell born 1861 in Centre County, PA, died in KS. Then to his son Frank Jefferson Bell, born 1888 in Coffey County, KS, and died in 1951 in Butler County, KS. If anyone is related to this family or has additional info, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

My Bell connection is on my fathers paternal side. Born in Guernsey Co,. OH abt 1866. Her father James Bell also of Guernsey Co., OH born about 1833. I think before these two connections my Bells migrated from VA
