William Armstead Bennett who was married to Synthia Bell Singleton. William was born in Louisiana in 1863 and Synthia was born in 1871 in Tennessee. They both migrated to Texas with their families. William was the son of Armstead Bennett b. 1832 in NC and Mary Elizabeth Manning b. 1838 in AL. It is believed that Armstead was killed in the civil war. William and Synthia were married in 1891 in Texas and lived in Hunt County until William's death in 1915. Synthia moved to Wood County sometime after his death and raised her children alone. Most of them were married or in their teenage years. At some point Synthia started living with some of her children in Dallas and Hunt Counties. She died in 1959 at the home of her son, Charlie Bennett, in Union Valley, which is in Hunt County. She is buried in Camp Ground Cemetery which is in Poetry, Kaufman County, Texas. William is buried in Dry Creek Cemetery which is in Poetry, Kaufman County, Texas. Poetry is located just across the Hunt County Line in Kaufman County between Terrell and Quinlan. Many of the Bennett's are buried at Poetry.
