The William I am referring to was born on or abt. Dec 11 1862. He and Joel were twins , the sons of John (born abt, 1838)
Hi Kenneth, I returned from Napa a short time ago and, NOW, can't find your phone number and email address? Could you please send them to me one more time? Thanks, Judy
Hi Hazel! Good to hear from you! I have a William listed Susan Bostick but I need to check the date and why it was listed in the newspaper. Could be they both had letter waiting but I always wonder who this William Bostick could be. Susan lived right in the city of Columbia and I am not familiar with any William Bostick living in the city. Would love to know about this William!
Edwin,
Ransom Adams, did marry Dicey Bostick. Does anyone have any idea what happened to Dicey's sister Martha
Ken,
If you want to do DNA, I can put you in touch with Melvin's son Donnie or Lesters's son Dannie. Allen (Uncle Luther's son is still in Sanford (I think) these would provide that paternal DNA you need.
Ken,
it has always been a big question mark for me of the relationship between Judah and James. The papers I have say the Judah along with son Henry received
manumission papers from John at the time that he freed his mulatto boy James.
So far I have been unable to track Judah after that time. I do know that the three did not leave John immediately and were probably the free Persons of color in the later census.
Marilyn Gilmore is a direct descendant of Hilliard, the son of Angeline and James. Marilyn says that Hilliard was killed by a run-away horse in the town he lived in in GA.
By the way. are any of you guys familiar with a William Bostick.? My grandfather Joel Bostic, Son of Sarah Miller Bostic and John Bostic were twin brothers that lost contact with each other after his marriage to my grandmother Betty Jacobs.
Napa?! I'm jealous. Enjoy!
Thanks for the email and phone #, Ken! I will be in Napa today but will email when I return.
Yes, John G or John Graves Bostic is the nephew of Bachelor John. This seems to be well documented. I sure hope John of 1810 and John G of 1820 are the same man because it shows slaves were manumitted or sold. I should be able to check this out by comparing these Johns to the 1830 census.
